xEV is one of the key green industries to reduce carbon emissions & curb global warming. But the performance of power batteries is the bottleneck of xEV applications. As it depends on whether the batteries can support a wide range of driving profiles. With the growth of the xEV industry, related testing is required to help improve the substandard battery performance. Not only is there a need to test capacity of batteries, but also need to simulate the varying power output requirements of diverse driving profiles.
Chroma 17011 battery cell test system provides charge/discharge tests of power batteries for xEV. It provides CC, CV, and CP tests along with build-in IEC standard DCIR (DC Internal Resistance) tests. Two different DCIR test functions with sample settings create easy and fast DCIR tests platform.

Through the Waveform function of system software, it can test power battery cells for many xEV and E-Scooter applications with real power requirement from different driving conditions (Driving Track Simulation). The Chroma system can perform CC or CP dynamic driving track simulation from user imported Excel table with a minimum 10mS interval time. Chroma 17011’s test channel parallel function can support a 600A single battery cell test channel with multiple protection functions. Also there is an option to integrate a Thermal/Multi-Function Data Logger to monitor battery cell temperatures.

Chroma 17011 100A architecture offers regenerative discharge energy design to recycle sourced energy by the battery back to the channels in the system performing a charging function or to the grid in a most energy efficient manner. This regeneration process lowers the total utility consumption of the facility and reduces the amount of waste-heat generated. Further advantages include a much cooler environment, reduced air conditioning loads and the elimination of water-cooling systems.
