In May 2020, Mainland China officially released GB/T 38775; July of the same year saw the announcement of the UL 2750 Outline of Investigation for Wireless Power Transfer Equipment for Electric Vehicles; and it is estimated that in 2021, there will be EVs with standard WPT systems on the market. In terms of technology, Japanese automakers and the American Oak Ridge National Laboratory (ORNL) have successively announced bidirectional WPT technology. In addition to traditional G2V (Grid to Vehicle) charging, the bidirectional charging device allows the EV to feed back power to the grid and become a mobile giant battery. This V2G (Vehicle to Grid) function is in line with the development and application of smart microgrid storage balance grid.
