The Backup Battery Unit (BBU) is a critical power backup device for server systems. It provides immediate, temporary power when the main power supply fails, allowing ongoing data to be safely stored. The BBU primarily consists of batteries, a Battery Management System (BMS), and a bidirectional DC power module. The DC power module converts battery power into the stable voltage required by the server, ensuring continuous operation. BBUs come in various power architectures, including low-voltage 48V and high-voltage 400V/800V types. Electronic loads are used to test charge-discharge efficiency and evaluate power stability. They also simulate actual power supply conditions to verify module startup and charging performance, delivering precise test data that comprehensively assesses BBU performance and ensures reliable server operation.

During charge-discharge testing of BBUs, instantaneous high-power discharges are required to simulate the actual usage conditions of battery backup power modules. Simultaneously, BMS status data is captured for comparative analysis. To meet these needs, Chroma offers automated test systems based on the Power Pro software platform for functional verification, as well as EOL testing systems for production. Additionally, comprehensive durability and reliability test solutions are available, supporting endurance tests, functional inspections, and capacity learning to ensure products meet performance and reliability requirements.
