LVDS Signal Module Model A291800

LVDS (Low-Voltage Differential Signaling) is an electronic signal transmission method commonly used in LCD panels. The A291800 supports LVDS output in 1 / 2 / 4 Link configurations with a maximum data rate of 1050Mbps per link. When used with the Chroma 2918 mainframe, it supports display testing at resolutions up to 4K@60Hz, offering users versatile testing capabilities across a range of resolutions.

The A291800 supports testing with color depths of 6, 8 and 10 bits. For instance, with a 10-bit color depth, each primary color is divided into 1024 levels (210), allowing for approximately 1.07 billion different colors to be displayed (210 R × 210 G × 210 B). This enables you to customize your inspection application as needed.

By equipping the Chroma 2918 with the A291800 module and operating it through the FPD Master software, you can address disparities between the LVDS physical wiring and the logic signal output by selecting and adjusting various settings. Choose between JEIDA (Japan Electronic Industry Development Association) and NS (National Semiconductor) modes, vertical and synchronous signal polarity tests, and perform left/right rotation without needing to adjust the physical wiring. With this array of settings and a flexible and fast operating interface, you can easily tailor the test setup to your specific application.

Chroma’s FPD Master software offers a Link Change feature that provides a convenient switch for changing physical cable connections and logic content. Adjust the content of Links 1-4 through the software to achieve real-time verification and debugging while saving time spent on rearranging the wiring.

To achieve various kinds of data mapping, the A291800 supports functions for division, arrangement, and combination in multiple LVDS signal modes. You can select between 1, 2, and 4-link mapping and pixel modes such as left/right, odd/even, and more.

Power, signal, and control pins can be activated independently, with user-defined timing adjustable in 1ms increments. Users can freely configure lead/lag timing for power, signal, and control outputs, including customized shutdown sequences.

ESD (Electrostatic Discharge) damage to electronic products has been an ongoing challenge to address. During regular use, ESD may cause instability and sudden functional anomalies. To avoid damage caused by ESD during IC production, the A291800 features IEC/EN 61000-4-2 compliant ESD protection capability (15kV Air / 8kV Contact Discharge) and includes built-in ESD protection circuits, providing complete protection against ESD impact.

The A291800 is equipped with built-in temperature sensing that continuously tracks changes in the module’s internal temperature and reports them to the control unit. As the temperature rises, the fan automatically increases its speed; as it cools, the fan slows down. This smart adjustment optimizes airflow to reduce operating noise while maintaining ideal thermal performance, extending overall system longevity.

The A291800 adopts a 2.54mm male box header design, providing versatility and stable connection suitable for general applications.

Supporting the latest variable refresh-rate technology, the A291800 leverages its high-speed refresh capability to verify whether the device under test functions properly under continuous image refresh conditions. It is equipped with four test modes: Saw, Ramp, Square, and Arbitrary. The standard modes (Saw / Ramp / Square) allow 1 to 50 steps with a time interval from 1 to 600 seconds, allowing flexible adjustment of the refresh rate. In Arbitrary Mode, up to 5 different periods can be set and switched dynamically, covering a comprehensive range of panel refresh rate testing requirements. (Optional)
