EN 50564 (derived from IEC 62301) is the latest standard for defining requirements for measurement of low power consumption for electrical and electronics household and office equipment. Several international energy saving standards such as Energy Star and ErP have adopted the IEC 62301 standard as guideline for power measurement requirements.
Chroma 66202 is capable of meeting EN 50564 requirements for power measurement instrument. In addition to that, Chroma 66202 is also capable of meeting the power measurement uncertainty requirements as the power meter has been verified by KEMA in accordance to IEC 62301, and with the newly confirmed power measurement accuracy specification 0.1% of reading + 0.05% of range (for 300V x 100mA range), the power measurement uncertainty contributed by 66202 Power Meter is less than the absolute power uncertainty of 0.02W required by the standard. Hence, Chroma 66202 not only could meet the power measurement requirements of EN 50564, it is also compliance for the power measurement requirements of standards such as Energy Star, ErP.
he new EN 50564/IEC 62301 standard has included interpretation, calculation and implementation methods for analyzing the measured power. However, the required analyzing process is quite complex and time consuming. In order to resolve this, the Chroma 66202 Softpanel has included the IEC 62301 data analysis feature (Figure 2) such as linear regression method for checking the measured power data stability in accordance to the IEC standard. The Softpanel also provides test report function by recording all the key parameters such as Total Harmonics Distortion (THD), waveform crest factor, voltage, current, frequency, active power, apparent power, power factor, etc.
