On May 10, the Chroma Foundation, led by Executive Director Amy Huang, organized a STEM education volunteer program at Shangda Elementary School in Guanyin District, Taoyuan City. The initiative brought together Chroma’s technology education volunteer team to co-host an engaging science education activity with the school. The session was led by Chroma ATE Inc. Senior Engineer Jordan Lee, who served as the instructor. Drawing on his professional expertise and experimental mindset, he dedicated himself to researching and designing extended teaching materials based on ‘micro:bit’(a pocket-sized computer designed to inspire creative thinking in children), and joined the volunteer team to bring a hands-on, interactive science course to students. Through careful guidance and enthusiastic support from the team, the program helped enhance students’ learning motivation and classroom engagement. By using technology education as a medium, the initiative sparked curiosity, interest, creativity, and independent exploration among children.

Since 2024, the Chroma Foundation has been promoting the “Rural Children STEM Education Rooting Program.” The initiative recruits passionate Chroma employees to serve as one-day STEM volunteers and instructors, bringing interactive learning experiences to elementary students in grades 4–6. Through school partnerships and collaboration with educational organizations, the program advances STEM education by bringing resources directly into rural schools. It aims to narrow the urban–rural education gap, plant the seeds of technology education more widely, and give more children the opportunity to experience the excitement of science and technology firsthand, expanding their learning horizons.
