IFEC 2025 Finals Conclude at Chroma ATE Headquarters
Chroma Provides Testing Equipment and Venue to Support Young Innovators at IFEC 2025 Finals
The final competition of the IEEE International Future Energy Challenge 2025 (IFEC 2025) was held from July 15 to 18 at Chroma ATE's headquarters in Taoyuan, Taiwan. The event was co-organized by National Taipei University of Technology and Chroma. Seven student teams from the United States, Germany, Belgium, Poland, India, Serbia, and Taiwan gathered for an exciting exchange of technology, innovation, and international collaboration.

The theme for this year's competition—Isolated DC-DC Converter with Fast Transient Response and Low Noise—challenged students to tackle stability and interference suppression issues in advanced power conversion applications. The year-long competition began with 17 teams from 10 countries, narrowed to 12 teams from 9 countries at the midterm review, before the top 7 student teams traveled to Taiwan to present their results and showcase their technical capabilities. With the theme squarely in Chroma's wheelhouse, we were thrilled to help design the challenge and provide the venue and testing equipment for the final showdown.
Chroma provided its high-power DC electronic loads, DC power supplies, Chroma 8000 Automated Test System, power meters, and laboratory facilities to support industry-grade product testing and validation for the participating teams. These testing solutions are also widely used in industrial applications such as power delivery testing for AI servers and ultra-low-voltage testing for CPU/GPU VCORE power supplies.

"Chroma has long been committed to advancing education and innovation," said Paul Ying, Chairman of the Chroma's Cultural and Educational Foundation.
"Seeing young people from around the globe taking on real-world engineering challenges with creativity and teamwork fills us with great excitement and pride. Hosting the IFEC 2025 finals at Chroma's headquarters is more than just co-organizing an event for us. It's also our way of giving back to the global technology and education community, and a great way to showcase the power of international collaboration and innovation."
The competition concluded with an awards banquet attended by distinguished guests from international academia, celebrating the students' technical achievements and innovative thinking. The IFEC 2025 Grand Prize was awarded to Warsaw University of Technology, Poland, with awards also going to the teams from Taiwan, Germany, Serbia, Belgium, and India. Congratulations to the winners!
