In 2025, Taiwan officially entered the era of a super-aged society, with people aged 65 and above accounting for more than 20% of the total population—meaning one in every five people is a senior citizen. Amid limited healthcare resources and workforce shortages, disparities in access to healthcare between rural and urban communities continue to widen due to geographical and time constraints. Since 2023, the Chroma Foundation has partnered with the social enterprise Digital Humanity Association to launch the Remote Health Promotion Program for Rural Seniors. Through digital health education and remote wellness programs, the initiative provides frontline care and support for older adults living in rural communities while supporting the Taiwanese government's Healthy Taiwan initiative, helping seniors age in a healthier and more dignified way.
Bringing Care to Rural Communities, Regardless of Distance
As a company deeply rooted in Taoyuan, Chroma ATE Inc. believes that business growth should go hand in hand with giving back to the local community. Over the past two years, the company has visited the Yeheng and Kuihui Indigenous tribal communities in Taoyuan's Fuxing District to better understand and support the needs of local seniors. The average age of older adults in these communities is over 69, and many face greater physical and mental health challenges than their urban counterparts due to limited access to healthcare resources. While local Cultural Health Stations provide daily meals, basic care, and community wellness activities, Chroma Foundation believes that promoting self-care awareness and improving health literacy are equally important in helping seniors maintain long-term well-being.

Digital Inclusion: Connecting Rural Communities with Healthcare Through Technology
Through its partnership with the Digital Humanity Association and the WaCare digital healthcare platform, Chroma Foundation leverages technology to connect seniors and caregivers in rural communities with nearly 2,500 healthcare professionals and medical organizations, benefiting more than 500,000 participants to date. The platform offers a wide range of interactive educational programs led by specialists in traditional Chinese medicine, nutrition, physical therapy, health literacy, occupational therapy, and psychological counseling. By integrating evidence-based health education into seniors' daily lives, the program equips both community caregivers and older adults with broader health knowledge while improving health literacy and digital capabilities. At the same time, digital tools help reduce the workload of community care workers and strengthen community engagement. After leading employees and project partners on rural visits for two consecutive years, Chroma Foundation Chairman Paul Ying shared: "Technology should serve not only industrial innovation but also society at large. Through diverse programs that combine healthy aging education with digital empowerment, we hope to help seniors improve both their physical and mental well-being, enabling everyone to live healthier lives while creating shared value for society."
