ENERGY TAIWAN 2026 | Chroma Showcases Battery Testing and Validation Solutions for AI Data Centers and Energy Storage Applications

07 Oct 2026

As demand for high-performance computing (HPC) and hyperscale data centers continues to grow, AI servers are placing increasingly stringent reliability requirements on power systems, backup energy storage, and battery modules. To address the validation challenges associated with higher power, efficiency, and reliability, Chroma will showcase a comprehensive portfolio of battery validation solutions at ENERGY TAIWAN 2026, covering battery module testing, reliability analysis, and battery cell quality inspection. These solutions help accelerate product development, quality validation, and the transition to mass production.

High-Power Battery Module Testing Platforms for AI Server and Energy Storage Validation

To meet the testing requirements of AI server battery backup units (BBUs), data center energy storage systems, and next-generation battery modules, Chroma's regenerative battery pack test systems offer a wide range of power and voltage configurations, enabling customers to build comprehensive testing and validation environments.
The Chroma 17050 Series features a high-power-density design with 18 kW, 36 kW, and 45 kW configurations for various testing scenarios. The 17020C Series delivers 10 kW per channel and can scale up to 80 kW through 8-channel parallel configuration, available in 60 V / 150 V models, offering measurement accuracy and application flexibility. For larger-scale requirements, the 17060 Series features a flexible multi-channel expansion architecture that can scale to MW-level validation, supporting large-scale energy storage systems and data center energy management applications.
The overall system can integrate DUT communication interfaces, environmental chambers, cooling systems, and data acquisition equipment. With built-in charge and discharge test profiles, it enables fully automated testing processes to shorten development cycles, improve validation efficiency, and enhance overall battery system safety, stability, and performance.

One-Stop Testing Solution for Battery Quality and Reliability Analysis

As AI infrastructure places greater demands on battery reliability, the Chroma 17010H Battery Reliability Test System provides an integrated, one-stop testing platform. The 17010H supports automatic multi-channel switching between DC charge/discharge testing and AC impedance measurement, replacing conventional multi-station test setups while reducing operational complexity and the risk of measurement errors. A single Electrochemical Impedance Spectroscopy (EIS) tester supports simultaneous measurement and data logging for up to 72 channels, significantly improving testing efficiency and data consistency.
The system also integrates high-precision Hioki analyzers with 0.1 μΩ resolution, making it particularly suitable for performance analysis and lifetime evaluation of low-impedance lithium-ion batteries. It provides battery R&D, production, and quality assurance teams with a stable, precise, and scalable solution for battery reliability testing.

Precise Dry Cell Management | Enhancing Lithium-Ion Battery Safety

Lithium battery fires most commonly occur during charging. The main cause is the expansion of the anode material after repeated charge–discharge cycles, shortening the distance between the positive and negative electrodes and increasing the risk of internal short circuits. The Chroma 11210 Battery Cell Insulation Tester uses a unique electrical flashover detection technology and its built-in +Flash test function to inspect the effective insulation distance and detect abnormal electronic leakage in lithium battery cells before electrolyte filling. This provides comprehensive quality inspection and helps reduce the risk of fire.
Additionally, the newly added simultaneous capacitance (C) measurement during testing eliminates the need for extra test stations or test time. This offers users a more convenient quality management tool for battery cell winding and stacking, effectively enhancing cell safety and reliability.
